Red Chilaquiles with Casa Arte Sano Nopalli Cactus Chips
We proudly introduce our Red Chilaquiles, a dish where simplicity and flavor collide. Imagine diving into a plate where crunchy, sea salt-kissed NOPALLI tortilla chips meet a vibrant, smooth sauce made from ripe tomatoes and smoky guajillo chiles. Each bite is an explosion of authentic Mexican flavors, accentuated by the fresh tang of queso fresco and a hint of creamy refried beans. It’s our homage to tradition with a twist of modern air.
Ingredients:
- 3 Bags of NOPALLI (Sea Salt)
- 3 tomatoes
- 6 guajillo chiles, seeded or deveined
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/4 white onion (to make the sauce)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
- 5 oz oil
- 1/2-pound of queso fresco
- 1/2 onion for chilaquiles
- 2 cups refried beans
Serves: 4 people
Preparation time: 20 mins
Method:
- Boil the tomatoes in water for 3 minutes.
- Add the guajillo chiles and boil for 2 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and let sit until cooled.
- Blend the tomatoes and chiles with the water where they boiled, along with the garlic and onion until you get a smooth sauce, strain it and set it aside.
- Put a saucepan with the oil on the fire; When hot, add the sauce and salt.
- Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
- Distribute the NOPALLI Cactus Tortilla Chips on several plates and drizzle them with the hot sauce.
- Add cream, cheese, and onion and if you wish, accompany them with refried beans.
